Title: Supply Chain Excellence - Why it's now Business Critical Date: Thursday, 25th October 2012 Time: 14:15 GMT+1 With continued economic uncertainty and increasing global competition, supply chain design and optimization has never been more important to achieve an efficient, profitable business - and for gaining competitive advantage. It is not enough to have your business under control and simply rely on your customers and suppliers to keep their own houses in order. Supply chain collaboration can have an enormous impact on your ability to service customers effectively and profitably - harnessing mutual capability, brings continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency. And varying demands for products, service levels and routes to market can be better served through market segmentation and a corresponding realignment of the supply chain. But for supply chain optimization to succeed, engagement of the leadership team is crucial: big decisions will have to be made at executive level - perhaps the closure or movement of physical assets; at the very least, a change in core processes, roles and responsibilities.
