Overview:

In this webinar Martyn Gill will be grilling two industry experts, Mike James from ATS and Tim Black from Siemens about the claims that MES solutions can now be delivered "out of the box".

Martyn remains unconvinced whilst Mike and Tim think real progress has been made to deliver MES in a box.

To avoid an academic discussion real case studies are used which represent both the discrete and semi-batch industries. Toyota and Carlsberg have agreed to allow the team to discuss their applications with some "live" examples.

Key Learning's

  • Is the "Factory in the Box" real and is it lowering deployment costs?
  • How large is the business case for MES?
  • Does MES support Lean and Six Sigma and does it really help to empower people?
  • Find out how Integrated Quality and Environmental reporting is affecting MES deployments

Mike is a member of MESA Europe, the industry organization which promotes knowledge transfer about MES so he will quickly put a wrapper around the scope of MES and then go on to focus on Toyota's and Carlsberg's strategic initiatives. Martyn wants to know if these MES deployments are really out of the box or have they been customized. Tim pitches in to explain how ARC, the industry analysts have been assessing Siemens efforts to develop out of the box software for MES. Martyn is skeptical; he wants to understand how Siemens have created the factory in a box and how he can get the factory out of the box.
